I'm doing the Grizzly Century Oct. 6th. I've never done it but lots of people are telling me that it is one of the most enjoyable centuries around. We'll see how much my climbing legs have atrophied lately!

It's a very nice ride, with lots of climbing. Not nearly as nice as the Sierra Fall Century out of Mammoth Lakes, though. While the Grizzly has nice scenery and good support, the Sierra ride has spectacular scenery and very good support. I think it is the best century in the state.... but I haven't done them all, yet. :)
My main (and really, only) b!tch about the Grizzly is the 20 mile out-and-back stub they do in the middle of the ride to make up the full 100 miles. Basically, it is a 10 mile slog up to a rest stop, just to turn around and go 10 miles back down before turning right and continuing on the loop.
You have the option of not doing that bit, and if I go this year that is what I'll opt for. It's still 80 miles and plenty of climbing, and that's ok with me - I HATE out and back rides.
Mt. Diablo Challenge. Oct. 7th. <--- 4th WAVE! :-D cause I'm uber slow
