Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - I really wish I'd brought the bikes to Seattle.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

At the mid point of a 2800 mile road trip of the west coast was a day in Seattle. I saw a ton of fixies, but only took two bike shots:

you missed out! it's true that the number of bikes around town this year is totally crazy. i would guess that there are probably twice as many people riding bikes this summer than there were last summer, and it's awesome.

It is. I've walked by it about 1000 times.....locked up at the north end of the market. Think the dude/girl/whatever works down there.

Got the day off tomorrow. Maybe I'll go down and get face smacked by a dude throwing a fish. Been looking for a fun reason to sue someone.

I absoeffinglutely love Seattle. Maybe I will break in the BFSSFG IRO in Seattle when I get it built...*swoon* I wish I could say I have seen the world's cities, but I haven't. Seattle makes me think anything else would be unnecessary, though.

Did you go to the U-district. Absolutely ridiculous amount of fixies. You'll be seeing Deep-vs in your sleep.

Capital hill is pretty chalk full too.
If you're ever on capital hill and hungerin' hit up hot mommas pizza, the pesto is most delicious.
Its down pine I believe, a couple blocks down from the lighted fields/KFC etc. on the right if you're headed down the hill.
Also, theres a lady that sells handmade sweaters and such in pikes that is way cool, I bought a sweater from her and its one of my favorite things ever, she was on the end of the stalls by the street last time i was there I think.

isn't jimmy johns a fast food chain? wait, isn't seattle itself kinda akin to a fast food chain?

OMFG I hate cyberdogs fake tofu hotdogs! Also, few here are really friendly, they're more passive-agressive. It really only appears friendly. I think New Yorkers are truely friendly. Seattle is also overpriced. I'd love to live somewhere else, but I can't.

And yes JJ's is food that happens to be fast

people associate seattle with fast food? ive only been here a couple years but i was under the impression that vegetarians and health-nuts reign supreme here.

now if you want to make starbucks associations, that's 100% correct. i think there's something like 75 stores in a two or three mile area downtown.

yes, yes seattle does indeed rock!

you should see the turnout at critical mass too: 100+ in the winter, 300+ in the summer!

Maybe you have met some of us. Internets aliaseses, and all that. I don't tend to talk about the latest awesome fantastic thing I read on the messageboard too much in real life...so who knows.

I personally think it is kind of exciting not knowing, you know? We could be neighbors, and then there is this secret internet message board persona. All hush-hush.

...maybe I am over-romanticizing.

i dont ride up to every nerd i see and ask them if they are on the internet or whats their username. in fact, i generally ignore other riders except for a nod or a "nice bike"..
oh yeah, i did talk to marqueemoon once ( i recognized his bike) at the bikeshop, but he didnt know i was a person from here.
