Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Your Favorite LBS

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Ok, there's been altogether too damn much whining about how your LBS sucks.
So, as a public service, post your favorite LBS, particularly if it's fixed/single-friendly. Or, if it's just a damn good shop. That way, if someone's not happy with their shop, they'll have a half a chance of knowing where the good ones are.
Mine's Revolution Cycles in Madison, WI. They know fixed, free, and everything in between. Rates are good, conversation is better, and there's a couch. And, they sell used parts, which is cool.

Bayou Bicycles, New Orleans, LA. A large, well-stocked shop with great customer service. Bayou is on my ride home from work. The staff there has really helped me out on numerous occasions when I have had little emergencies. Everyone who works there is a bike enthusiast, either mtb or road with a strong road leaning. Some of the guys are or have been serious racers.

hayneda's garage.
Well stocked with lots of old parts, most retro non-indexed, non-aero but still quite functional. Too many bikes hanging around to keep them all running at once. Parts scavenged from bike to bike as the mood dictates. Lots of "experiments" with new bike setups. A fixie lives on the premises.
Grouchy but solid wrenching skills, although the head wrench is slightly intoxicated more often than not.

BIG BANG BIKES in Pittsburgh, PA.
The guy takes the time with you, they have good mechanics and a guy that does great fitting and custom bike building.

Bike Central, Front & Ash, downtown Portland OR. http://www.bike-central.com/
Several track bikes on display (KHS, Cinelli, Soma), several track frames in the back, single-speeds on display, and the guy knows everything about fixed/ss conversions, builds excellent wheels, does excellent mechanic work, and stocks pretty much anything you can imagine. The only place that had a 26.0mm seatpost when I desperately needed one.

My garage isn't bad either...but it never seems to have all the parts that I need to do whatever I'm trying to do, and there's no couch.
That, and most people are afraid to enter, for fear of what's lurking inside.

Yeah... I know how that goes, but years ago when I was into VW's, I built a new engine in my second story 1-bedroom apartment. That bedroom became my garage....

In NY Bike Junkie in Bethpage. Awesome Prices and although it's a small shop size wise they actually have more than the bigger ones.
Bike junkie sells track frames, etc? News to me. I frequented that shop for all my MTB needs back in the day, good people.

They stock a lot of track parts. They hand build great wheels. They aren't open on Monday.

CHICAGO - best of the best
Yojimbo's - Cabrini Green (Clyborn and Division, roughly)
Upgrade - Milwauke and Chicago, next to the currency exchange
Urban Bikes - Uptown (?) South of Leland on Broadway

Upgrade is good. Cycle Smithy on Clark north of Fullerton also has track bikes and components. They are pretty nice whenever I go in there.

I like Johnny Sprockets on Broadway just north of Diversey but that's mostly because I know the folks there. I also like Yojimbos a lot and Urban Bikes on Broadway is BAD ASS.
