Hey another Bianchi! I made the mistake of walking into Bike Odyssey in Sausalito because they were
advertising a clearance sale. So I ended up with a Bianchi frame and transferred my components from
my LeMond Ti to it.

So anyone want to buy a nice LeMond titanium frame? http://www.monkeybrains.net/~luludog/LeMondTi.jpg

Love the older Campy, especially the crank. That's why my 07 Chorus build has a Centaur crank. UT design, but the classic style aluminum goodness :) Although it's still not quite as pretty as those older ones.
I bought myself a pair of those Forte Titan wheels. Then I noticed how much weight I've gained since the weather turned cold and I started eating like a bear getting ready to hibernate. I need to drop about 20 lbs before I'll be happy riding 16 spokes....
So, they're hanging up in the garage, taunting me while I eat just one more cookie.....
I'm glad I'm not the only one eating "just one more cookie"!! hehe! Doh!
I guess it's good I finally got on the trainer 3 times last week. But I still need to resist the chocolate covered macadamia nuts my cousin sent me! I should be able to resist until tonight! ;)
Oh yeah, back on topic... I bought a set of Ultegra SL brifters for my CF Bottecchia bike build. So much for budget build and swap of my old 9spd components to the new frame! Ssshhh... don't tell the wife! :D

Oh I agree. That's a C-record crank and I'm the original owner, although I've switched the chainrings
to newer 10 speed. Style wise I think it beats anything recent. Interestingly enough my other Bianchi
has 10 speed Chorus but the Centaur UT crank too. I bought it because it reminded me of the C-record
crank. Your taste is excellent

Centaur crank also saved me $200. Making the choice that much easier ;)

OK, I liked the Genius 5 but not $230 worth. I got the Zetas for $150. The buckle was nice but these fit just as well. The pump was $42 and new cleats were $16 and I had a 20% off coupon at Sports Basement.

BTW, I wish LOOK would provide Allen screws instead of those flat head things for the cleat attachments - none of my screwdrivers are the right size for that hardware and they get mungged up.

I actually put a deposit on this frame back in August. I fitted it with a DA group I ordered off PBK and kept my old wheels. It came in the week before Christmas and I picked it up on Dec. 30 and put in maybe 20 miles on New Year's Day. I hope it stops raining soon.

I'm totally not worthy of this bike, but heck, I'm not getting any younger. Hope to see everyone on the road in 08.

That's a very nicely done photo. So little depth of field; is it real, or really long glass?

i'm gonna say there was photoshop involved in that. Either way nice pic.

Thanks guys. That is the actual photo, there was very little post-processing done on it.
I used a 50mm prime lens at f1.8; it was very overcast this morning so I used a large aperture to get enough light and also for the shallow depth-of-field. Some fill-flash was also used to make the subject "pop".
Photoshop was only used to: convert the raw file to jpg, a small contrast adjustment, resizing, and finally, sharpening. My personal goal is to always get the photo correct from the camera and use Photoshop for very minor tweaks.

Exif info says he used the Canon 5D with a 50mm f1.2. Wow! Really nice combo and pic.

Just ordered a niterider minewt.x2 and red Michelin Kryilions. I'm a night owl so I should ride more with the light. I think that and a superflash will be a good combo. Now all I need are loose tights or tight pants for cold weather and I won't have any excuse not to ride.

I was really stressed at work on Friday and I saw these while I was shoveling down some croissant. I put a max bid of $585 thinking no way in heck it would win with 1h4min to go. I came home to pack for our weekend in Monterey and remembered that I bid on em'. Surprised as heck that I WON! I then had to tell the Mrs. about my impulsivity.
Who's in the doghouse? Who? Who? Who?

That's the ebay photo. They're currently en-route from Alabama. They're the mavic ksyrium ES from last year. Friggin' beaufool wheels.
I'm not in THAT much trouble. She is pretty forgiving. However, I didn't mention that I need a cassette and new tyres before I can even use them... D'oh!
Welcome to the red spoke. The wheels are great, forget what all the haters in the road forum say about them.

Pete, since the ES got updated to the SLs, perhaps you can find last year's model for a good price? A couple big box online shops had the front and rear priced at just a little over $620/pr (the caveat is you have to want a Campy rear, and buy your wheels from different vendors, unless they price match).

Those are some very nice wheels minivan. May you have miles and miles of fun on them. :D
I on the other hand have been hitting the Pearl Izumi outlets in Gilroy and Vacaville. So far I've purchased
3 Slice Winter Jerseys ($22 each)
1 Channel Jacket ($49)
2 Zephrr jackets ($49 winter and $19 shell)
All for 75% off retail. :D I feel like I've been getting away like a thief in the night.

Thanks for the info. I'd really dig a cool deal on some. Hey Bostic, I never new about the haters!:(
I've never had a problem with Mavic. I bought some Cosmic Elites to firm up my too soft trek and now my trek rides like my Klein. I'll have to check out what their saying over there.

Quick question... Where is the PI outlet in Vacaville? I went there in August and they were closed due to being in the process of moving. I went there after Christmas and I couldn't find the store on either side of the outlets... :(

Well last week I ordered a set of the Nashbar ALUMINUM small radius rollers (which are only for sale once an a while). They probably wont arrive until next week (USPS regular mail!).
Today, I just bought some new lighting to replace my minimalist cateye headlight and really small blackburn taillight.
I got a DiNotte 200L-AA-S Headlight and a Planet Bike Super Flash Tail light.
I am excited to get my new bike stuff :)

I bought Planet Bike Cascadia 700c Freddy Fenders for my Trek 2200 commute bike. I don't plan to ride in the rain intentionally but on the days its rained the night before I won't worry about riding to BART or all the way to Pleasanton if it's one of those days. Nice fenders good fit, excellent hardware and good price at Universal Bicycles.
For my Orbea I just got a SRAM OG-1070 11-28 cassette...gotta protect those old knees.
Plus I got some winter cycling clothes for those cold mornings:
Pearl Izumi Therma Fleece tights
Pearl Izumi Cyclone shoe covers
Pearl Izumi Gavia winter gloves
Craft Windstopper Thermal Jacket
Bergamo MSS winter jersey
I'd like to get some better lights like the DiNotte but I'm getting by with the CatEye LED for now.

+1. But I did buy a pair of bib knickers from the PI in Tahoe for $30. They had some good prices but everything was in small or medium.
Last night I picked up some Rapha swag (http://www.rapha.cc/index.php?page=1) .They were running a 24 hour secret sale + offering an additional 20% off on your purchase.
Since I have a big weakness for Rapha clothing I ended up snagging a few things like their club jersey and their Long Sleeve Jerseys. The Club Jersey I picked up in pink for $72 and their Sportwool Long Sleeve Jersey was a buy one get one free deal, so I snagged one in blue and another in black.
