I bought new tubes and CO2 cartridges and delivery system...after today's fiasco I need a non-hand-pumping option. :o
I bought a pair of Pearl Izumi ThermaFleece Bib Knickers. They're nice and warm, love'um.

Ron, I have a pair of those sks race fenders...I can never get them on right (especially the front)...dang thing scrapes against the tire and I am always adjusting it...
Crap ... these just don't fit anywhere period! No wonder there is a 50% price different between the two fenders they sell ... returning these back to Performance later today ... grrrr

I have a pair of those. They mostly suck but the only choice if you don't have clearance for full fenders.
*edit: I'm referring to the Race Blades, btw.

I'm fed up with my SKS fenders too, probably going to just take them off and figure something else out later on.

Are these "race blades" or the full fenders?
I have the SKS full fenders and they work great. No rubbing.
I used rubber lined metal P-clip, "problem solvers" brake caliper nuts, and a little creativity.... since my commuter CAAD4 has no eyelets or anything.
But anyway they work perfect.

OK...
+1000000 on the DiNotte headlight.
It looks awesome, and most importantly... It's super crazy bright and shines the perfect beam that shoots way out in front of you.
No mounting bracket (uses o-ring) makes it super easy to switch it out to my other bike without leaving any marks or anything.
Also...
+1000000 for the Plant Bike Superflash
Best $20 I have ever spent... seriously

I have the full fenders but they don't want to stay on properly, even after a bunch of creative mounting. The shape just doesn't match my bike.

Here is a picture of my rain bike with those same fenders. They work great. IF you have the clearance and the eye-lets. I've had them for over a year and they work great.

I bought the Speed EZRoad Planet Bike fenders for the fixed gear bike. So far so good though I haven't done much other than toting around my neighborhood to and from work. In addition to carrying a 15mm wrench, I put a 10mm in the bag as well to adjust the fender height if needed.

New water proof Pearl Izuni super yellow jacket at the Gilroy outlet store.
A new used 120mm FSA stem from a fellow NorCal board member
A Topeak mini road morph because I moved my road morph to my commuter bike after starting to hate the old regular bike pump i was carrying.
After checking out steelblue's Bottechia frameset I decided to jump on the Dec BD GB and get one too for my first bike build. And I'm glad I went with the Bottecchia frameset instead of the Kestrel RT700, even though I really like the color. I'm reading more hassles with the frameset than successes. Some with clearance issues on the derailleurs, others with cable problems, and so on. Nothing hugely major but with this being my first build it would have been a let-down.
So I'm glad I used the $$ I saved on the Bott frame to outfit the bike with Ultegra SL pieces. Plus the prices at PBK were too good to pass up.
I've completed the bike but haven't gotten to ride it much yet except up and down the street between the rainfalls. I scavenged pieces from my other bike to complete the build. hehe! So once I get a few bucks more saved I'll get the SL brakeset and a new seatpost and stem. Oh yeah, I need to get a 12-27 10spd cassette soon as well. I have my old 12-26 9spd cassette on there for now.
In the meantime I'll just admire it while it hangs on the wall waiting for a dry warmer day! hehe!
(I'll post pics up once I download the pics I took...) The new baby has made time to play with the bike an afterthought for now. :D

The Ksyrium ES I mentioned a few posts up were sitting by the front door when I got home today. OMG!!! Now I need to figure out what rubber to put on them. With all that red they don't go well with the blue/black motif I had going with the current Wolf Vector Comps... I was thinking GP4000 continentals but should I go red or blue? My cages are blue. Maybe I need red&blue handlebar wrap or something to balance it out.
I'm all hodgepodge now. Very confused.
As for these pieces of art... My god what a difference 600 grams makes. They feel like air. WOWEE!!!
My wife wasn't happy with my impulsivity but when I pulled them out of the box she actually said "Wow!" when she picked them up. :) I didn't mention the immediate need for a cassette and tires.
Well, would it be a travesty to ride them with all-black Maxxis Re-Fuse tires for a bit? I have a 20% off coupon for the cassette...
Been rockin' the Sugoi stuff lately! I never bought their gear before but I'm really happy with these:
http://media.rei.com/media/850731.jpg Sugoi Subzero Zap Tights
so in my quest for more perfect rain gear I ordered up some of their booties:
http://media.rei.com/media/221138.jpg Sugoi Resistor Bike Booties
They got better user reviews on their waterproofing and durability than the P*I stuff... we'll see! My nikwax waterproofing does OK but when its really wet the spray between the bottom of the tights and the top of the shoes is no fun.

I had to stay home today because my daughter is still under the weather... Darn! ;)
I had enough time to get them set up with a new cassette. I couldn't justify $120 for new tires today so they have the bombproof maxxis tires on em' for now. Good for this kind of weather (excess road debris) anyways.
Bike looks busy with all the trek and kysrium logos and it's tricolor red/black/blue. Needs help in that department but one thing at a time.
Yeah! Before anyone chimes in... I know it needs a good cleaning.
Nice wheels, minivandriveby. My 5200 has Maxxis Re-fuse on the front, Spec. Armadillo on the back, both with Mr. Tuffys on Open Pro hoops. Not exactly the lightest wheelset in the world, but I'll be danged if I'm going to change a flat in the daily downpour!

I got cold the other day, so i went warm jersey shopping on eBay. I think that's why it's so warm this week. But I'm not worried. We washed the car and the bikes today, so rain must be on the way...
Photos to come.... unless I got scammed....
Just picked up a Selle Italia Flite TT on eBay.

Wow. I just ordered $80.00 of ..... wait for it..... Brake pads.
Yep, front and back for two commuter bikes, plus front and back for the road bike. Yikes.
So, if you see my bike, please stop and admire the koolstop pads.
Nothing exciting, but I had a 20% off coupon from Sports Basement that was about to expire so I got a pair of Sugoi shorts, Castelli arm warmers, a couple pair of socks, and one (1) Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp tire with red sidewalls, which was the only one they had. I like the red ones because they go well with the paint scheme of my bike and I was having difficulty finding them. Saw it, bought it (20% off, after all); my front tire's fairly new but the rear is probably about ready to replace. The staff said they would probably get more of them in and in the meantime, I have what I'll need for the near term.

I oredered a Garmin Edge 305 after reading Curtis' post about it in an old thread. I loooked at the 605 and 705 and decided the 305 fit my needs. I also ordered a RoadID after reading a thread about someone crashing and no one being able to contact their family. Hopefully I will only get a lot of use out of the Garmin.

I work in DT San Jose, so I will probably ride from there, watch the stage, then ride home to San Mateo.
Woops: Going off topic... I'll go paste this in the other thread....

I've lost weight and have given away all my x-large and large jerseys.
So I bought a new medium long sleeve Decente on eBay. It's very nice, but t's so small I gave it to my petite wife. At least it was not expensive.
I have a Pearl Iszumi from ebay on order that better fit, darn it.

This is why I don't buy jerseys online unless they have measurements available.
I've also lost weight and wear medium jerseys now. But when I went to a PI outlet I found out that their small Slice jerseys fits me well unlike the other brands. Its weird.

I have to say that there is a big noticeable difference between these and my old PowerGrips.
I am now considerably more efficient with my pedaling.
So now I am slow and efficient
compared to being inefficiently slow.
I love how Crank Brothers pedals come packaged. So fancy. :)
I bought some stuff for my fixed gear bike recently. Got a new TA Specialities 47t 1/8" chainring to replace the 3/32" 52t (the rest of the drivetrain is 1/8"), an Ultegra front brake to replace the old 600 front brake which, as it turned out, didn't fit, and some goofy narrow cruiser bars from a junk shop in Portland, just for fun.
Oh, and one of these:

Hey Mtnwalker,
how are you liking the Cat-1 shoes. I tried those on and didn't like the tongue. Are they pretty stiff? I'm in the market for new shoes, maybe I should try them again.

Its surprising comfortable when on the bike.
I was a bit concerned when I felt pressure points around the tongue area
when I first put them on.
But that went away after riding for a few hours and broke them in. YMMV.

Here's what came today. It's the replacement for my bent Redline Cyclo-Cross bike.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2098/2299415062_58b02d312a.jpg
got this today. this should help me put my bike under 16lb. I hope, at least close to 16.
I bought a bike fitting at Shaw's Cycles in Santa Clara. He spent 2.5 hours with me fine tuning things and explaining his reasons and philosophies. Seat higher and pushed farther back. Stem flipped upwards, bars tilted downwards. Cleats changed to neutral position. I ordered some Deda Newton anatomic 40cm bars which will bring the levers closer than the current Ritchey WCS I have on the bike.
Perhaps someday I will have a Fuso frame.

Terry knows more about bikes then anyone in the bay area, very opinionated, but he knows his shiznit. I have always repected him very much. He built my tubulars for my track bike. I highly recommend him, great place to hang out for a couple hours too.;)
