This pretty much defines all you need to know about creating an OCP (Obsessive Compulsive Poseur) wardrobe:

Oh, and check out the comments. Pretty hilarious.

Well I could have used some booties without leg warmers on Sunday. 65 miles of wet cold rain but for a good cause. Cancer Society. And even if I get kicked out of the OCP club, the headsweat stays.

Do-rag (headband, headsweat?) stays. No bibs... And I'm not gonna wear one of those funny looking Italian cycling hats....

The unsightly gaps should have included the gap between the jersey and shorts:rolleyes:
I find this more disgusting than a gap between the arm warmer and jersey.

That plumber's gap is definitely a reason to consider bibs.

I was feeling a little OCP after color coordinating shoes, shorts, jersey, shoes, socks, and gloves with my yellow/white/black Mercier last week. After checking this site I realize I'm not OCP.

My friends and I live in a small rural town in Oklahoma. We have team jerseys from teams we like, former and present. We didn't know it wasn't cool. We really don't care "how they do it in California." We like our stupid little team jerseys. Nahlini makes neat ones and after a team folds (and unfortunately that's been pretty frequently) the jerseys are 1/2 price and work as good as ever.

IMHO cyclist that I ride with respect you for your riding capability not what you wear or how cool your bike is. There are a couple of guys in our group who regularly turn in 22+MPH average speeds over half century rides in high heat and humidity. Neither are color coordinated or ride expensive bikes. One actually rides with a (gasp) Camelback! I've never heard one of us mere mortals riding in the slower 14, 16 and 18 MPH groups (including a few OCP types) ever say something like "Well I wouldn't ride with them, they're not OCP or they're not color coordinated. We just wish we could ride that fast and mostly we're just jealous as he!!.;)

Sleeveless: triathletes use sleeveless, even on their training rides.

No, not you:)

I was actually thinking about the front gap between the bottom of the jersey and the top of their shorts.

You should only wear a team jersey if you are actually on (or have been) on the team, or if someone who was on the team at the time gave it to you as a gift.

Sorry, It's a rule!!!

And yes. Bibs mitigate a multitude of sins.

Sleeveless jerseys are for triathletes and women.

You should only wear whateverthehell you want and feel comfortable in... the inner Fred will out after all.

Sadly I do only wear white sox to ride in these days...but thats cause I started buying these great runing sox last year to mitigate blisters when I was walking 10-12 hours a week to lose weight and fell in love with the comfy little things and I have been wearing the short version lately cause their cooler in the 90ish weather... I'm totally style impaired so its gotta be comfort!

Since I commute 365, I've been seen in some pretty odd gear, ski pants worked very well for my short commute puffy looking but I wasn't frozen and since all the stylish hi$$$ bikes were snug in their garages and couldn't turn up their non-runny noses at me anyway :roflmao:

Despite the fact that "Crack Kills", how are you supposed to take a potty break in bibs?

Bibs aren't my style anyway. I ride a fix, therefore, have to wear the regulation t-shirt, Converse sneakers, shants and New York Fahgettaboudit chain for a belt...

Dress code? Hmmm. I don't do dress codes. Do any of us really? If I were really worried about what people thought about me, I'd stop riding a bike and start playing golf.

I wear sleeveless jerseys in the summer. Of course, it is usually much warmer in AZ than most of Europe.

And I'm not gonna wear one of those funny looking Italian cycling hats....People who don't like old skool cycling caps haven't tried them. :) One of the best things about them is that sweat runs down the bill, not into your eyes. They also provide an acceptable alternative to a helmet with a visor.
