Mountain Biking - water purifier / mackenzie river

I am thinking about getting a water filter thing and I was wondering what your suggestions are. What prices am I going to expect. I want one that pumps so I can pump it into multiple waterbottles and bags and stuff.



my other questions is - do you think the mackenzie river trail in oregon is doable for a beginner? I have a coupe friends who are coming with me and they are fairly new at mtbing.

It attaches directly to a wide mouth nalgene bottle, or you can just pump it into whatever really. I've used it in the Wisconsin River, Colorado river... Seems to work good. If that's too expensive check out the MSR MiniWorks EX Filter it's about $60 less.

About the trail, i have ridden it once (about a month ago) and its doable for a newbie but some sections will be hard and might have to walk. there are a lot of rock sections that can be sketchy. but it is managable but might take more time to complete. there are lots of cool thing on this trail.
Bring a spair tube or two and plenty of water and food for a 2-4 hour ride.

Couldn't agree more!! MSR make the best stuff out there! I use the same!

It's the most universal of most water filters.
