I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this frame. I picked it up at a stoop sale a few years ago- was told by the seller it is a Kabuki, confirmed so far by the crazy quilled seatpost. The lugs are super nice and magnet test says they are steel. Rear triangle looks chromed, not stainless.
Anyone know anything about Kabuki track frames?
It has 27in wheels and the front has to be tightened lower down the (extra long) fork dropouts to clear the crown. Crazy, no?
I'm looking for any info about the history and value of this ride.
Also it is for sale in Brooklyn if anyone is interested.
That front wheel is very dangerous. If you plan on riding this, you need to get a 700c wheel for it, as that's what the frame was made for.

yea..ditto..
..also, what are you selling it for if you still are
Because of the way he has to shove it down in the fork tips for it to clear. That, and 27" wheels are rarely seen on track bikes.

I've got too many bikes and this one is a little too big for me.
it is 55 c-c top tube, 52 c-c seat tube.
I'm looking for the best offer.

thanks el twe, I tried a 700 and it sits perfect w/ low clearence.
now it is for sale w/o wheels...
first kabuki track frame i've ever seen. some bridgestone/kabuki collectors might be very interested?
I just wrecked my kabuki conversion beyond saving courtesy of a ****ty driver. The lugs are aluminum on every kabuki I've run into, which is about 5. If anyone needs a quill seatpost for one, let me know, because mine is never going to do my bike any good anymore.

That bike is **** hot. Does the bike have a seat stay collar, or did that post come with it? That is curious why they would go with the quill post if the lugs were steel.
*edit - looks like it has a place for a bolt. I'd replace the seat post with a conventional one.

Teh kabuki's with aluminum lugs have 27mm crown race headsets.
Ask me how I know.
I found this: http://sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/images/kabuki2.jpg
Through here: http://sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/
However the image is too small to read (unless you enjoy torture).
