I will be in noosa for a week near the end of October and want to experience some of your roads. I need to know who rents road bikes (nice ones if possible). I would love to do some riding while I am there but bringing my bike is not an option. I would also like some recommendations on where to ride or maybe a group ride or event would be awesome.

All input would be appreciated.

Hey fred. Dont have a clue about the rental situation, but there is an awesome walk/cycle (i'm assuming you can cycle on it) through the national park at noosa, goes around all the bays. you do not wanna miss that!

I doubt you can cycle on it. Cycling on designated walking paths within National Parks in Queensland is almost always a no no. Great walk though. There are a lot of places in Noosa Heads that will rent you a bike. Just walk along Hastings St, you'll see plenty. I've not been up that way lately so I've no idea of the prices though. Also, the quality will likely be very low, usually department store hybrids or very low end local brands. Your best bet for some real road riding and possible group riding would be to try out some of the forums and see if someone is willing to have you join them on a spare bike for a group ride. It seems that most Aussies cyclists hang out at cyclingforums.com (http://www.cyclingforums.com/f126-australia-and-new-zealand.html) after some unpleasantness on various sides a while ago... as a result this sub-forum has become a bit stagnant.

Hope that helps.
