What was the river path the Slacker Century went down? I want to start doing some junk miles on those; not enough flats around here. Are there other trails between Torrance and north OC?

It was SART - Santa Ana River Trail. The one between Torrance and SART would be SGRT - San Gabriel River Trail. The beach start of SGRT begins where Long Beach becomes Seal Beach off of PCH (although you could start at the ocean I suppose).

Yes, the east-west bike path through coastal Long Beach connects with the south end of the LA River bike path and follows the LA river north. Ended in the Maywood area the last time I rode it. The graffitti get pretty heavy near the north end.

This is a nice area to start from restroom facility entrance to SGRT ride south to Seal Beach approx. 10 miles from here you can then get on Pacific Coast Hwy. and continue as far as you want.

There is a path near the 710 freeway. It goes down to Long Beach however it's closed off due to contruction near Florence Ave. You can hop the fence and walk it across but it's pretty dirty.

I'm leaning toward SGRT Saturday since I think I have to be in seal beach later anyway.

Now, now...you know that's not true, in fact according to you we're getting faster and faster as time goes by.:) I can assure you that that's not the case...at least not for me. I haven't been on my bike in almost two weeks.

Well, "the not so Slacker Century" describes it very closely. The pace was fast, but the stops were FOREVER! :)
