Mountain Biking - Hello, I'm new here.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Yeah, I just bought a Gary Fisher Fat Possum X0. Is it a good bike? I did the parts selection all by myself.

Ok, just kidding about the text and title. I'm not new here, I've ridden a Fat Possum before, and most of the parts came off of the DMR.

Possum is the filet mignon of NC, no?
Have you been to my granny's house for dinner? Sounds like you know fine dining.

"Yeah, I just bought a Gary Fisher Filet Mignon." would sound french... and therefore sissy :p
Man, I sure would like steak right about now

What are you talking about? Possum tastes nothing like fish.

Mr. Smashy, very nice bike. Congrats.

I thought Possum was only found Down Under and Opossums were indiginous to North America?

Haha I love the NC jokes. Its not at country as you think. I ran over a possum the other day though, not the bike. It was pretty nasty.
It's the correct color and it has a rear shock - - what more can you want?
Very Bullit-esque; hope you enjoy it.
I've read about the swingarm being a bit flexy...can you verify this? (MBAction grabbed the seat and rear wheel and flexed it enough to make contact with the seat tube)
This was the very first Fisher Filet though...I wondered if it has changed.
Sure looks purdy.

With my first proper ride with it, I didn't notice any flex in the rear swing arm.
Awesome...
...and it still looks purdy.

How did you prepare it?
How did you prepare it?Marinate for 8 hours in a mixture of 190-proof home-brew and Duck's (http://www.ducksproducts.com) tobasco. Then stew it in a big iron skillet with okra, bay leaves, sauteed shallots and baby corn. I thought everyone knew this.

That does sound delicious. I wonder if I can substitute beaver for the possum.
It needs matching rims... LOL
Otherwise not a bad lookin bike.

looks like you've got a nice amount of bb clearance.
nice bike.

dang coons, were was the dog while all this was happening
Ok, not really . But I am looking for a light weight fs bike, anything made by trek, klein, gary fisher, cannondale, giant is out of the question. I huck off stuff, dirt jump, and trail ride. I need a lighter bike to trail ride with.
Out of curiosity, what caused the change of mind?

Working at a shop that carries trek and fisher and having test rode a Fat Possum last year changed my mind.
