I want to find a small flat bag that is maybe the size of a mans wallet that has a velcro loop that I can attach to the stem on my bike that has a velcro flap to put my company ID in so I can have easy access to it when I go through the guard gate in the morning. As it is now I have to unzip a pocket on the side of my windbreaker and still ride and not fumle with the ID an hopefully not drop it in the road as I roll up. Anyone have any good ideas there? Or maybe something that hangs around the neck that I can tuck in the windbreaker or jacket and just pull it out to show the guard?

Try a 'Bento Box'. It attaches to the stem and top tube. It comes in 2 sizes - I have the small and it just fits my cell phone and ID.

This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but I have this (http://www.rei.com/product/678726) bag that rides on my top tube. It holds my cell phone and keys in the back pocket and I put my badge in the front pocket. I don't have to show my badge to get into the building, but I have to press is to a reader to open the doors for the garage. I like this because I can unclip it from the tube while I'm riding up, flash it across the reader as I ride past, then ride right into the garage as the door rolls up.

Is your badge on a lanyard? Maybe you could just not zip the front pocket and pull the badge out by the lanyard as you ride up.

Duh a lanyard would solve the problem. I don't like my badge hanging around my neck at work. IF you ever saw what a lathe can do when something gets caught in it not pretty but I could hang it around my neck when I ride in. Things that are the most obvious are sometimes what you never think of.

cut the line in half and connect with a peice of heat shrink tubing. In the event of a dangerous snag the rubber tubing will snap, but it's strong enough to keep it in place for casual snags.
