Hey I am about to buy a used 2003 Rocky Mountain Flow. I am a heavier person over 200 pounds and was told this one is pretty tough. Now I'm not looking to go too extreme just your basic offroad trail riding. Are these bikes worth buying? I'm getting it for around $600 BTW I was told it has about a $1000 value. Thanks in advance and BTW theses forums look great.

BTW these are what it will be coming with:

1. the front derailer is an xtr 75 dollar value.
2. it comes with mavic rims tubeless, it has a tube tire on it now, but you can go tuebless if you want to, i would stay with tubes but there killer rims they cost about 170 each, I just happened to have them laying around and i will never use them.
3. has avid disk brakes 90 dollars each.
4. XT casset 9 speed.
5. LX shifter brake combo rapid fire 160 dollar value.
So I guess you can say its not really being down graded, the bike will be worth about 1k...

Again this is just for basic trail riding I'm not planning on doing any monstrous jumps or anything. I'm a heavy guy just want to make sure that this beast will handle someone around 230 decently.......which I'm sure it will.

I'm not sure about the 03, but the 05 and up models have very solid frames. RM has a pretty good reputation, I doubt you'll run into any problems assuming the frame is sound.

Man I just received this bike(all in parts) and my god this thing is nice. I love the frame on this thing looks like it could handle more than I'll ever put it thru. I'm having it put together in a few days it'll take about a week or so to have it done for me but I'll be sure to slap up some pics. Man am I stoked the frame is in almost near new condition.
