hey folks, so i have a 70km race on the 30nd of september. it's a mountain top start/finish, down for 15km, flat for about 40km, up for 15km. i've been doing about 300km a week over the past month, no real intervals or hard hard days, but lots of climbing (very mountainous where i live). i'm fit, but want to get fit enough to be in with a chance of a good finish on this race.

anyone feel like advising me on a training programme? i have some ideas, but i'm interested to hear what the masters of BF have to recommend!

With just over 30 days of training available before "taper," pick up Friel's training bible, start with build 1 period, plan 1 week taper for the event. That's 5 weeks which puts you on the mark.

Then you also have the training bible to start planning for the next race until you figure out if there's another method you want to go to.

Either way, if you haven't been doing any VO2max work or high intensity intervals, it's definitely time to start.
