Fuzzybox, stop giving advice if you don't know what you're talking about.
It's not just the pegs that aren't meant for grinding, it's the entire bike. And having non-knurled pegs on a flatland bike is totally useless.
EDIT: The stock gyro is fine.

Just because it says flatland doesn't mean you can't go off some stairs once in a while or grind some ledges. I have a bike for dirt and I ended up switching to street and I still use it.

yea but you can only "pick up ur front tire and put it on a bench cause i stink" quoted that from your post on another thread. and i dont wanna break a $300 bike.

There is practically no difference between a dirt, street or park bike. However, there is a huge difference between those and a flatland bike. The rear of the flatland bike is not made to grind, grinding puts A LOT of force on chainstays and seatstays. Hell, my STREET frame is bent because of it.
And no, there are no flatlander bikes that can grind and hold up to it. Only grinds I've seen on flatland bikes was catfish doing a small feeble grind down a small, smooth ledge at a skatepark.

That' cause I can't bunny hop high enough, and I doubt your going to be grinding 24/7 on it.
Edit: I had a race bike given to me and I learned street stuff on that I don't see one problem with it.

The TT might be a little small since it's 19''
Im not trying to win, I'm saying everything you say isn't always the case.

Flatland bikes are all damn small, I ride ramps, street and DJ's on my 20.1, and it feels a little long when I try to do hang fives and such. Bottom line is he'll get used to it.
Also, what the hell kind of street stuff can you learn if you cant even hop?

I can hop, I just can't hop high enough to get to a hand rail and that stuff.
wethepeople
08-22-07, 03:53 PM
Answer my question, what kind of street stuff do you know then. Hand rails aren't the only things to grind, there are benches, ledges, higher curbs, jersey barriers and other stuff.
fuzzbox
08-22-07, 03:58 PM
Stuff involving ledges and stairs. Obviously, handrails aren't the only things.

Like what, what can you do.
"Stuff involving stairs and ledges"
Lets me guess, you can ride down the stairs and drop off of the ledges.
