Well I spend a lot of time in the saddle, 6 days a week, for over 200 miles a week.

I have nice equipment and decided to spoil myself with some Assos shorts. Some of the allure was curiosity and I wanted to see what all the hype was about.

I can't stand them! It's like there is an extra saddle in these shorts and they seem to be loose accross the "top back"
The are the "Mile H" shorts, and I did order the correct size. I paid $159 for these from Colorado Cyclist.

I have 2 pairs of Pearl Microsensor shorts, $110 each, and find these FAR superior. I guess it is just personal preference, and different body shapes, but what a dissapointment.

I'll stick with the Paerl's for now on, but was just curious if anyone else thought that the Assos Mile H shorts were rediculous?

Assos make the best shorts I have ever tried.
at the moment I only use Assos, Cannondale and Giordana.

Think, I find Pearl Izumi the most comfortable. Have a pair of Santini Pro shorts for the Bonjour team-wear on long rides. great comfort. But for everyday rides-found nothing wrong with my top end, Performance shorts with the 'hydro' inserts. Those for everyday and when I get back, nothing seems to hurt. The Klein shorts,I bought-when I bought my "Klein" were Assos. Very, Comfortable, but the side panel insert stating 'Klein' deteorated in no time.
Down now from an injury- hope they all fit, when I get back on the bike.

It seems there is a trend among most of the high-end manufacturers today, as you say, put an extra saddle in the shorts. I prefer a thinner chamois and it's getting harder to find quality shorts that don't give that Pampers effect.

you need to ride in what is comfortable for you

that being said...i bought a pair of the high end assos bibs...the one with the elastic insert...214 bucks!!! an insane price but i am a sucker for new things

fortunately....they are by far the most comfortable things i have ridden in...the elastic allows the combination of good padding where you need it and flexibility where you dont. no chaffing or rubbing ...something a thick pad can do

i will ride in nothing else now
