It has been 8 weeks since my accident which I detailed here: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=315150
Recovery is coming along well and I'm ready to start, or at least starting to 'try' to ride. It should be interesting to see what 8 weeks off the bike has done to my overall fitness level which was at a all time high before becoming a human hood ornament and turning my bike into a carbon paper weight.
Tomorrow I will be completing the build on my new ride, a Look 595 Ultra frame decked out with Campagnolo Record components.
The frame set includes the Look HSC-6 Fork as well as integrated headset and seat mast.
http://www.wrenchscience.com/DBImages/400H/595UltraGlossBlack.jpg
The wheel set I have chosen is Campys, er I mean the Fulcrum Racing Zero's. For those that don't know, Fulcrum is Campagnolo's house brand.
http://www.wrenchscience.com/DBImages/400H/FulcrumRacing0.jpg
At first I wasn't sure a red wheel would look good on a black frame, but after holding it up to the frame I think it will be striking.
A Deda Electa flat bar as we as a Deda Newton 31 Stem round out the controls.

My beloved (at least to my Butt), Fizik Arione saddle finishes off the build.

Is that actual gold, or gold plated? That would add quite a bit of weight to it. Hey, that'll give the rest of us a chance to catch up! :p

Was the driver insured? Did they give you what your bike was worth?

Thanks for all the complements. I am excited to test this bike out. I have never ridden a Look before two weeks ago when a friend of mine who is a long time Look owner persuaded me to take a test ride.
Wow.... I was amazed with how comfortable yet stiff the ride was. The ride makes my Cannondale System Six feel like riding a cinder block.
The handling characteristics are fantastic. I went with the stiffer 595 Ultra vs the 595 Orgin because of my size. I will never be thin like a Pro Tour rider and hover at 185-190 (5'10") lbs in my best shape.
After speaking with some long time Campagnolo owners since I am a Campagnolo virgin, I decided to "make the leap" (to quote SRAM) and go to the dark side.

Since you aren't riding yet, you're going to need someone about your height to give it a good thorough testing. I'm here for you, man. I know... I'm a giver.

No such luck buddy... I was riding it up and down my block about 50 times yesterday when the sun was setting.
But you are welcome to a ride anytime.

Ooh...sweet cages, awiner.

So, how much does it weigh?
I was excited to see 12.1 Lbs with no Tires, tubes, bar tape, computer, pedals or cages.
Put everything on and the final weight was 15.2 Lbs.

Ok, you are still UCI race legal. Whew that
Mine is 18 pounds which is about 7 pounds lighter than its predecessor.

If I could lose the 6 Lbs I gained from sitting on my ass for 8 weeks in front of the boob tube I would be much better off.

Tell us about that cassette... how is it "modified" exactly? I presume you somehow sneaked a 26T cog on a 12-25 setup?
I'd love to know, since I'm considering doing some more climbing....
