1. When Salestre, (sp), won the 13th stage, (at least I think he won it), right before he crossed the finish line he put a pacifier or binky in his mouth. Why? What did that signify? Not even Phil Ligget knew why. Does anyone here know?

2. What doe the lion represent when the over all leader receives it on the podium?

3. Is the same lion used over and over again, or of the overall leader keeps the yellow jersey for say 8 stages he gets 8 lions?

Thanks.

The pacifier was a tribute to his young daughter. The lion is a symbol of Credit Lyonaise (sp?), the company that sponsors the yellow jersey competition. A new lion is awarded for every stage.

They'd probably get a CheeseBurglar doll.

Is it my imagination run wild, or does the yellow jersey get prettier girls to kiss than the stage or other jersey winners, when on the podium.

I'm surprised no one has suggested a Ronald Mcdonald clown doll, if Micky D's was a sponsor of the over-all leaders jersey. But what about the color of the Jersey? Would it still be yellow? Or how about red & white toi match Ronald's socks? :D

You really think MacDonald's has the power to change the maillot jaune?

As for the pretty girls, apparently there's only four of them, they follow the tour the whole way round. Weird how they never look the same though.

Speaking of the podium girls, which is a great tradition IMO, one of them got kicked off the crew late in the tour for "misbehaving." I believe the official quote was something like "her mistakes were piling up." Apparently she was doing more than the cursory kiss which is against their contract.

Would that really be so wrong? I know if I was wearing the yellow jersey, I wouldn't be complaining! :D

If McDonalds was a sponsor I think I'd turn off the boob tube and get on my bike instead.

He stuck the baby's dummy in his mouth because he'd just recently become a dad. Just his way of telling everyone.

As for MacDonalds sponsorship they'd not need to offer a free burger, just any pile of dogs crap would suffice...
