BMX - Getting Pegs Off

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey guys...this might sound like a stupid question but how the hell do you get pegs off? I don't use them at all so there just dead weight. Any help is appreciated.

Find a socket that fits them and just get them off. Getting pegs off is not quite rocket science.

All mine have is a nut in the middle...which I'm guessing is the axel bolt but I can't reach it with any tool.

Get a socket extender or just a long socket.

If I were you, I'd just learn to grind. Grinding is a lot of fun.

Duder, get a X-wrench like you would use to change a car tire, some of those have the correct size and are more than long enough, and you mayu already have one.

once i had a stripped bolt so i tightened the hub and then spun the peg and the bolt came off.

I might put them back on later on but not now cause I just got into BMXing and in all honesty...I suck. Hell I've only been to a skatepark once so far.
But yeah I got them off...had to borrow an extender from a friend.

I've still never been to a skatepark. I ride street, so pegs are a big tool for me.

I though street and park were the same thing? Guess the proves how much I really know about BMX.
Ok so let me get this straight there: vert (so dirt jumps?), street, park, racing, and flatland right? Did I miss anything?

Vert=halfpipes and such. Trails=DJ's.
