OkaY plan A didnt happen
Biddin on a redline conquest only to go into a bidding war with some zero feedback buyer so i had to let it go.
Plan B
220 for the fantom or 220ish for the scattante( with the current 15%off coupon)

I like the standard geometry on the fantom more. but the scattante seems okay.

any feedbacks on either frames?

another other frame recommendations in the 200 range?

any inputs welcome
thanks

I'm about half way through building up the nashbar frame. So far, it looks decent.

Only drawback (to some) is the 135mm rear wheel spacing. I was able to have a rear built for a much more reasonable rate than I had originally anticipated.

212.47 and free shipping with the 15% coupon for the Scattante that comes with fork, headset and seat post collar is a pretty ripping deal and I think hard to beat. I haven't found anything better yet...

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago. I wanted to build up a primary commuter and pit bike for cheap. Both the MB and Scattante fit my budget. I ended up with the MB. My primary choice was Scattante because I like their graphics better but their "free ship to store" had it being delivered 3 weeks out. (Come to find out after talking with the local Performance manager that the date is an estimate and it'll usually get here in 2-3 business days when their regular shipments come it). The MB took 5 business days to arrive.
The MB rides fine. I have it built up with a combo ultegra/tiagra/truvativ parts. The frame/fork are solid and surprisingly rides smooth - but that can be from my ultegra/OP wheels on some Marathon Plus 32s that just soak up any road chatter.
I've only used it for commuting and have not had a chance to hit it offroad.
