I read about it in a cycling mag. Supposedly it claims that it increases your VO2 max.

Anyone try this, I am guessing it is just voodoo and black magic.

That bit about increasing your VO2 max kinda sounds to good to be true.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could really use something like, oh, visualization, sit back & watch everyone working out hard, and you reap the benefits.

Don't get me wrong, in the real sense I believe visualization can work, but it would be nice to sit in a gym, drink beer & eats chips & salsa & still gain muscle just watching, with no added supplements?

I have never really been a believer in anything other than a multi vitamin, and trying to eating somewhat healthy. I have always been concerned with the side effects of a lot of these potents or products.

Once again not to say that they will not work, because I have seen what creatine can do in just 6 weeks. I just don't feel like we know enough yet, and there may be nothing wrong with it.

If it has pycnogenol (I think that's the spelling), perhaps.... studies showed it did help to increase endurance, but you had to take A LOT to get the effects- which made it one expensive puppy. I mean, a 10 day supply would cost about $40, and you had to take it for months to see the effects, and even then, the results were varied.

If you want to increase endurance, do lots of LSD rides.... there you go, and it didn't cost you a penny! ;)

I am always dubious with suppliments. They promise the moon and deliver piss most of the time. ;)

Only claims, claims and more claims.

I've never used a supplement, and never really plan to. Too many side effects and empty promises.

I was just curious to see if people used this stuff. To me the only real way to get ahead is train right and eat right. :)

Hi,
sounds like BS to me. Pycnogenol is an antioxidant. It protects your body from damage caused by oxygen. Oxygen is great stuff, you need it every second of every day. But if you lived a perfect life with no disease or accident , oxygen would eventually kill you anyway. I am a big fan of antioxidants, but they are not going to turn me into Lance! Btw, your local grocery store (or drugstore, or vitamin store) will have the same stuff, but cheaper. I might have seen it at Walmart, but don't hold me to that. I know they have a couple of antioxodants; just not sure which. Fruit and Vitamin E are a couple of the best antioxidants.
