Just wondering if there's a place where you can do test rides on a Cervelo (Soloist Team) in NYC. I only know one place right now that even sells them, which is a bike shop in Park Slope -- and they won't allow test rides for some reason...

I'm interested in that bike as well, the only places I found that stocked it were SBR on 58th & R & A in Brooklyn. Not sure if either are set up for test rides.

R & A won't allow test rides because they are jerks. A guy I ride with got a 7-day test ride from a shop in Manhattan. It costs $200. They keep your bike. If you buy, the $200 goes towards purchase. I cannot remember to store name. I'll look for it.

Cosmic Wheel in Bogota, NJ, carries Cervelo, and the owner, John Russo, is a great guy. Just a couple miles from the gwb.

You could also order a test bike from Competitive Cyclist. iirc, it's around $200 and you get to keep it for a week. if you buy from them the money goes towards the purchase.

Looks like SBR Multisports is good for test rides. It's a tri shop that apparently sells tons of Cervelos....

Check their dealer list for northern NJ: there seems to be tons of them around here. Most piloted by guys in full CSC team kit who won't acknowlege your existence!

Hahaha. Maybe that's a requirement of owning that bike. :D

+1 for SBR. Friend picked up a Team Soloist over there; seem like nice enough folks.

Okay. I checked with my friend who "rented" the Cervelo. It's from Cadence, in NYC. You pay $200, they keep your bike (CC info), and you test ride the bike for seven days. If you buy, they credit the $200. If you don't, well you got to ride a nice bike for about $30 a day.

What about piermont bike? I'm also in the market for a team soloist. They're the closest to where I live, but there's no mention of them doing bike fitting like SBR.

I don't remember Piermont carrying that brand, but give them a call. Funny thing is I see Cevelos all over the place here in NJ but I can't think of a single dealer besides The Sports People in Far Hills. Cervelo doesn't appear to have a dealer locator on their website.

They do carry it and have a few Cervelos in-store.. wondering if anyone had experience getting fitted for a bike there. Last time I went in there the guy told me he rode a 51, so I should ride one haha. I guess we were the same height. Didn't exactly inspire confidence.
