"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - If you are racing unattached...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. which kit would you pick?
I'm pretty sure I'm going it alone next year but I'm not into the plain, old jersey thing. I don't care if I drop out of every race as long as I do it lookin' good. That's really all that matters.
I've narrowed it down to these four. What do you guys think? I'll get matching shorts of course.
DINGDINGDING—Poll's over. I decided on one. Check it. (http://unattachedrider.com)

I like the top 2. The top right is something out of the ordinary for a race kit.
Where exactly do you get them at, or did you make them?

Huh. I thought I had an original idea when I thought of this about a week or two ago.
Personally I don't like the upper right. I guess my preference is bottom left.

bottom left
But if you have a LBS you support you can wear that. My LBS dosen't have a team but they provide such great support I would be happy to fly their logo.

Dude, what a hoot! Personally, I voted for the wrap...but.........if I was going to do one, I'd do a plain white jersey with plain black print, kind of like those old generic containers they used to have in the grocery store.

wrap ftw
I like the stripes. Top right.
Philly Very cool.
The wrap makes me think of Frankie Goes to Holllywood. I like the upper Rt.

They are all kind of ugly.

I like a photo-negative of the bottom left (black background).

It's my favorite of the bunch. Close second is Stripes, although looking at it now the black U is a little too prominent. The bottom 2 are kinda generic as far as patterns go.

Just made them. Had some time before dinner, waiting at the coffeeshop without a book, so I downloaded the Pactimo template.
This thread is so friggin gay. I prefer pasties.
Well... to each his own.

If i'm riding unattached, my jersey's gonna say:
FU
and on the back
I don't know you

Wrap. no doubt. But it would be super cool if you it'd the 'un' in unattached.

It would appear that Pcad is the only straight guy here. Blonduathlongrl please take note.

Would look interesting, but what would it imply? Emphasis?

If i'm riding unattached, my jersey's gonna say:
FU
'zactly. And that's what these jerseys are doing, right? Now, if you're gonna say FU, you can't say it small, you can't say it subtle. You gotta say it big.
Wrap, no questions.

You gotta say it big.
That's it—I'm going with Wrap.
If you think about it, the other jerseys look like any other team kit. The Wrap concept is plain enough to be appropriate for the unattached rider, but still visibly bold and legible from a distance.
I'm going to work on bibs, but you should be able wear it with plain black shorts the way the top is designed.
I also registered a site. I was chatting with an ex-teammate this morning and we decided we're going to give this some web presence and see if we can collect pre-orders. It would be neat to see riders wearing this all over the country.

I'd buy/wear one (even though I am on team).

Umm... wouldn't that make you guys a club? Kinda defeats the purpose of your unattachedness, namsayn?

namsayn?
Shiyaddap. Our logic is fool-proof.
No one will be joining anything, just buying race-wear just like you would the Wonderbread jersey from Pearl Izumi. I just like the idea of one specifically for an unattached racer.
I think the two on the right look pretty hot and I'd love to have some. Hook us up, man. :)
I'd buy the wrap to wear at my team's group ride, hammer everyone into submission, and then renegotiate my contract.

I was thinking about entering a "first timers" race next year just for fun (I haven't raced in 12 years and just got back into riding at all last year) and thought it would be fun to show up in that The Ritz tuxedo shirt, or the Crash Test Dummy one (that should keep people from riding too close to me)

--------------------------Unattached
-------------It's either a strong statement of independence
--------------or it means you're so deficient in riding skills
----------------that no one will have you on their team.

This just rocks. The wrap. Use it for CX or save it for next spring? Hmmmmmm...I was contemplating a team too. Either way: I'm in. Steak you're a genius.

I used to have a plain neon green skin suit, the only decoration being a big skid mark on the RH shoulder. Wore it when I was either unattached or pissed at my team.
Post a thread when these go on sale.

If four of us show up with the same shirt on, does that count as a team?

I guess I'm a little late to the poll but the upper left one reminds me a lot of Crate&Barrell
