We’ll Hetr (Heather) showed up right on time. I was a little tentative at first , she said she didn’t have much experience on the bike. I had a KHS on the cyclops and her seat was perfect no adjustment needed wow! Went through the gears real quick and she had never used the break shifters let alone that style of breaks and hard to grasp the cog thing right away. So I just basically showed her push the lever this way easy this way hard. We were off across California st down the ally to Clay and straight down the hill Weeeee! Heather was like a fish to water…A Natural ! Bravo! By the time we hit the flats over the side walks/cobbles Justin Herman plaza she was buzzing in and around tables with the greatest of ease. I was completely ready to enjoy the afternoon. Met MsIncredible (Paula), nice to see you again, and Blast radius (Henri) who I hadn’t met before but felt immediately at ease (BTW Henri met Willie Brown). We cruised Pier 39, aquatic park, fort mason, presidio, stopped to give Heather a granny gear seminar. She shot up over the hill and down to Baker beach. We we’re getting hungry and we went the trails through the park, so I could show them the area for a possible Bike Forum Cook out. Finally Falafels! I tried to pay for everything cause I got a rental bonus today, but while I’m sneaking over to the cashier to pay , all three of the infidels are jamming cash into my Zoe Bag. Wisecrackers. The food was great and we split for American Cyclery, a candy shop for sick bikers. From there to the Haight where we bid goodbye to Paula and Henri, I such a great time, with those nice people can’t wait till the labor day ride. Heather and I went back to my place so she could pick up her suitcase. I talked her into using the KHS for her Sunday ride. She is super enthusiastic about biking, she told me she thinks about it all the time. All in All I had some great conversation with some interesting people and just really enjoyed this get together.

Hey guys,
It was great riding with you. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and it did seem like we'd all known each other already. I guess the forum posts and picture threads do that. Heather, you did great on the hills; once you go fixed, the whole shifting thing will be behind you. The biking environment will be even better when you finally move here. Pete, thanks for taking the lead, organizing the ride, and sharing your favorite falafel joint with us. Paula, you truly are Ms. Incredible, mad bike handling skills, scientist, programmer, and world traveling marketing exec. You just need to add Cyclo-Cross racer to the list :D (http://www.pilarcitos.com/2007Cross.htm).

*my camera lense must have had a smudge on it. The photos look a bit blurry.

Hm. Something about that shot looks strangely familiar. Of course, I was keeping slightly different company

Sounds like a great ride and a pleasant time was had by all. Wish I could've joined y'all instead of working. Oh well.

I'd sure love to know where one finds the best falafel in San Francisco.

Heather- glad you had as good a time in our city as I had in yours a couple months ago,

how long was the total ride, time wise?
It's always nice to see a small group of people get together and do a nice casual ride like that one.

Kilo T-I250, I really like them, interchangeable lenses, and ac red lenses are incredible great for descents with rapid sunlight to shadow, which is great cause I can't see anything in the shadows and I tend to ride in the Kamikaze mode. My wife has Quams and they are sized small for a woman.
We'll make sure to invite you on the the next journey.
