I'm in Brooklyn and need a set of ti handlebars trimmed down. Anyone know of a shop in NYC that has the right cutting tools for the job? I've been told by my LBS that a carbide tipped saw is needed.

Where in Brooklyn are you?

Titanium, in normal rough cuts, doesn't require any special tooling. Your standard hacksaw and guide will serve you just fine. If your LBS won't do it for you, go to your local hardware store and pick one up. It's that easy.

Shaping, lathing, machining, or forging the stuff is where it get's tricky. The heat generated by high speed tooling is where the potential for problems arises.

i'm thinking any place that could cut a steering tube would be able to do the job. i've had things cut at R & A before and they did a fine a job.
