Hi folks... might anyone happen to know if the new Shimano Alfine Rapidfire Plus shift lever (SL-S500) will work with the Shimano Nexus 8 Redline hub (SG-8R25)?

Thanks lots!!

Hey Harv,
I did a quick search for the Nexus, and found that they both use the same part at the hub gear selector. So I assume that the throw would be the same as the Alfine. I have a call out to Shimano already regarding an Alfine, so I could probably find a shifter price at the same time. Is this for your Twenty? I am thinking of ordering a SA 8 speed, against the advice of everyone at the shop, but it can be spaced to fit the Twenty frame without cold setting and it gears up from the bottom, meaning you don't need quite as large a chain ring. If I try it, I will give a review, not in time for your bike I imagine, but maybe for your wife's ?

Regards,
Andreas

Hiya -- yep, this is for my Twenty.
Is this Andreas from Fairfield Bikes?
Anyway, I have Max at Fairfield ordering me a twist shifter for my Nexus 8 Redstripe hub that he is going to lace up to those Rhino Lite rims.
I was cruising through the net reading some info on the Alfine, and note that they have a Rapid Fire shifter for it, and, as you know got wondering if that shifter would work with the Nexus 8 Redstripe?
Yes, please, if you could find that out for me, I would appreciate it.
I'm going to be stopping by Fairfield today with the back half of the Twenty for Max to work on fitting the new BB in place.
When this one is done, I will be taking the wife's Twenty in to have it built up like mine.
Thanks lots!!
