I can't really complain though, they're only 21 years old! Rear wheel, Nondrive side too! :p

Glad I have a spare wheelset, but now I get to rebuild the rear wheel because with spokes this old, I'll just bet there's failure due in more of em!

21 years? Gee whiz, I'd take them back. There's a (minuscule) chance they are still under warranty. :D

Do you know how many miles are on them?

Absolutely no idea, I've put a couple thousand HARD miles on them myself, rough roads, loaded touring, fire roads and fire trails up on the UP.

Reminds me of a joke........

Penguin was having trouble with his car leaking oil. So he took it to a garage to have it looked at. The mechanic said he would get right on it and should know what the problem is in about 30 minutes. Penquin decides to take a walk while he is waiting so waddles off down the street. While he's walking he gets a little hot and notices an ice cream store. He goes in and orders a double scoop vanilla sugar cone. He sits out front to eat it and has a little trouble eating it because it's hard to hold a cone with flippers. He finally gets done and cleans up best he can with some napkins. He waddles back to the garage to see what the mechanic has found. When the mechanic see's him he says "looks like you blew a seal". The penguin gets all embarrassed and says "No no - that's ice cream".

I've got the rear wheel from my Raleigh on the bike right now. This may be a good excuse to go to Deep V on the Schwinn!

They sure don't make things like they used to. Only 21 years. I'd take that wheel right back to the store and demand a refund. ;)

Of course, the wheel I put on is 19 years old! ;)
