Great sense of accomplishment riding into Paris on thursday. Lots of great riders and friendly spectators and officials. The weather was awful at times but in hindsight it is part of what made it a great experience for me. I was well prepared physically but had very bad equipment. Only the very best will do under such circumstances. I think my time will be a little under 67 hours and I am superhappy with that.

Congratulations! You certainly weren't plodding -- 67 hours is a great time. Exactly how bad did the weather get? And how much did you sleep?

I slept a little over 5 hours in Brest. Was a bit too tired before dawn coming back to Paris but it worked for me. The rains were coming constantly, it was far from raining all the time but knowing it probably soon would start again was tiresome. My footsoles are still very sore from days in wet cycling shoes. Going out from a coffee at a control in the middle of the night when it is pouring down was no great fun, but after riding for a while it was suprisingly OK

Well done. I've never come close to that kind of mileage, I hope to one day. However, I don't understand how one can go so long on so little sleep.
Great job.

Congrats! waiting to hear how my brother did. I cringe to think of that kind of grueling ride, especially in the rain. Ugh!
