Howdy everyone. I am trying to find the easternmost point of the Harrisburg-Sunset trail. I am going from Deer Park to Katy tomorrow and this is the only part of the trip I am unsure about. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It was really good. I went 50 miles. First time that distance through town. I maybe was passed by 50 cars from Deer Park to downtown. Bonked hard five miles from the end though- didn't hydrate enough. Harrisburg trail was pretty much overhyped. Next time I do this I am staying on Sherman, it was quiet and fairly decent roads. I think I'm going to do it next week also.

Thanks

I have ridden harrisburg once late at night with some friends and I think it has a crazy number of cross streets well lit though. Are you trying to get katy from deer park thats a pretty good distance round trip, I often ride out to cypress to visit the parents from montrose and ususaly take memorial (after shepherd) to the terry hershey to george bush trail that should put you right by katy lots of parks on the way to refuel on water. Weird rules in the small village of piney point no bikes on memorial but they provide a wide sidewalk along the road. I will be going that way tommorow.

Not going to do the round trip this time. Still fairly new in my return to cycling. I have been going hard again for about 3 months. You are right about the cross streets on Harrisburg. I was paranoid that someone would come right on through and smack me. I had no troubles on Memorial, but I used to live on the west side of town and know those police can be, um, particular. I hadn't been on Terry Hershey for at least 7 years and I really like all of the additions, but it is hilly. Best of luck on your ride tomorrow.
