Many of you know how unhappy with my doctor's lack of concern for my knee. My new physical therapist neighbor talked to me for about 30 seconds before he could diagnose this problem that my doctor has been rolling his eyes over since February. Anyway, now that I moved I should get a new physician anyway. Does anybody know of any good doctors in the general area of Pasadena/Glendale/Burbank that I should see if I can get with my Blue Cross HMO? Running a general search shows 80 doctors within 10 miles of me, but they're just names to me. Thanks in advance.

A great rehab facility in our area has free sports injury screening on Sunday.. It is Casa Colina.. It is in Pomona, about 30 minutes from Pasadena..

Thanks for that. The pdf doesn't come up for me, but I might just give them a call and ask about it today.

Remember you have a 50% chance of getting the guy that graduated in the bottom half of their class. :D

Dr. Lewis Yocum did my 2nd knee surgery. He was the Lakers team doctor until he moved to the OC office. I highly recommend him, it will be a long drive from Pasadena but worth it.

Thanks. Turns out my acrobat wasn't opening, so I saved it and opened it that way. It looks to only serve to diagnose my problem, but that's great because my current physician can't even do that! I'll go next Sunday if I can.

Your optimism is overwhelming!

Thanks. If I end up needing surgery, I'm willing to drive (be driven, actually) further for a recommended doctor. My neighbor says most ITBS cases (I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty confident) can be treated without surgery.

socalrider: I went to that Casa Colina place today. They were very helpful and helped to not only diagnose it as an ITB problem, but to determine what was causing it. Apparently, my right hip is weak and causing a slight tracking problem. Makes sense since my right hip is slightly deformed (rotated inward a tad). Now I can start working on a stretch and exercise program. Thanks again.

That is good news.. They are very helpful and the fact that it is done for free is huge plus.. If they can't diagnose something, they can at least point you in the right direction.. I will let my friend who works there know that you had a positive experience...
