Road Cycling - My New Bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just picked up my Bianchi Veloce yesterday! Whoo hooo! I'm now officially a roadie :D . I know it's a triple, but I'm old and a wuss. Unfortunately, I won't have a chance to ride much for about a week due to work :( . Oh well, I'm psyched anyway!
What's the take on being apologetic about it being a triple? There will come a time when you will spin up past riders walking their steeds uphill because they've run out of lower gears. You won't be so apologetic then... you'll have a real smirk on your face.
Anyway, welcome to the road world. Nice bike. Like the twin bidon cages, too.

Yes.. I am glad for my little front ring when I do my big hill in the last 2 miles of my usual route... I couldn;t care less about it the other 30 miles, but on my hill I am almost inspired to name it. ;)

Rowan & cAPSLOCK: I agree with you guys. I LOVE the small ring. Heck, I NEED the small ring. Need to save the knees and keep the bike in motion. Thanks for the replies.

Great looking bike. As far as the triple, I'm a real wuss. I use the small ring way more than I use the large one.
Great looking bike! Congrats, from one rookie roadie to another!
Now, make Jan proud!
