I have found a series of electric motors called gear motors. They usually step the rpms down to 300 rpms or so. There are also some that have a shaft orientation that is at a right angle. I have seen some as large as 700 watts.
If this kind of motor would be suitable it would be easy to install on the front fork of my bike. The motor is relatively long and thin - usually 3.5" thick and 6-8" long. It could be attached to a fork with a connection made at the wheel hub. How will I know if it is suitable?
