I have a Gary Fisher Tiburon hybrid bike. It has promax caliper brakes. How do I adjust them. The rear wheel can not spin freely. When I pull the lever it looks as if only one side moves. The Side where the cable is screw clamped is the side that does not move. It is constantly touch the rim. Thanks for any help.

first, make sure your wheel is centered that is if you have horizontal dropouts. If it is centered, you want to tighten the little screw on the caliper (should be philips) and it is near the spring. You might have to tighten the screw on the right caliper side and loosen the screw on the left caliper screw.

There is a small screw at the base of each of your brake's arms. Tightening that screw should make the arm move outward.

Honestly, if it was my bike I'd buy a set of lower end Shimano brake arms and ditch the ProMax. You'll only have to do that once. Keep the ProMax and you'll be jacking with them constantly.

You need to start by telling us exactly what type of brake you have otherwise we can't suggest anything. "Promax Caliper Brakes" is not a brake type.

Thanks I did it and they work great.
By the way they are direct pull v brakes.
