Sorry for the cross-post, didn't know we actually had a SoCal forum.

Anyone here from Simi Valley? Looking for some routes in and around Simi. One route i found, although rather short, is 1st, Long Canyon, Wood Ranch. Nice road, Bike lane, not much traffic.

Any better suggestions?
thanks!

Lots of us out in the SF Valley and beyond. The SFVBC (http://www.sfvbc.org/index.php) weekend rides head out in the Simi direction fairly often. Moreover, there is an unofficial Monday ride that almost always heads over Santa Sue and around Big Sky (Lost Canyons?). My favorite destination from Simi is Grimes Canyon.

Hi pixbroker - I'm from Moorpark and there are lots of places to ride locally, especially if you head out towards Thousand Oaks/Agoura. I was out in Long Canyon today on my way over to T.O. and Westlake. From there, you've got your pick of several roads thru the Santa Monicas.

Another one of my regular routes is to ride out Santa Rosa/Lewis to PCH or Ventura. And as others have said, you can hit Grimes to the west or Santa Susanna to the east. Really depends on what you like to ride and how much time you have.

Hi pix, welcome

What kind of rides are you looking for? 20 miles? 50 miles? Longer? Hilly? Flat but traffic free?

Meanwhile, to spice up your ride (means climbing). while going south on 1st, left on Leisure, right on Azure Hills and follow that until it ends at Sunnydale. Right on Sunnydale until that ends at Rambling Rd, right on Mellow until it gets back to 1st street. Left on 1st street to continue as before.

Also, when on Wood Ranch Parkway, cross Madera and turn left on the 1st street (Roosevelt Ct) and then right on Presidential Dr and take it to the top (Reagan Library)

Anyway, welcome aboard and let us know what you are looking for.
