Hi, I've been lurking for a long time... Now, I need some advice! I had an old 520 that I got for $50 at a garage sale and LOVED it until it was stolen. I've been looking for another nice 80s Trek since then, and I don't want to do a ton of work on it.
So, three questions for you nice folks:
1) What would you pay (or wouldn't you pay) for an 80s steel-frame touring bike?
2) What other oldish, cheapish bikes would be comparable to the old Treks?
3) How much do these babies weigh? I remember the 520 being pretty heavy.
I saw at a Trek 710 on craigslist: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/bik/405319173.html.
It looks beautiful but way too expensive. Is this the going rate for these things?
Thanks for your help, folks.
