I'm looking to replace my old racing bike with a street/mountain bike. I came across the Fuji Police Special at a bike shop by me. Can anyone tell me if this bike is worth buying? What are it's pros and cons? Since this is a 2007 model they are closing them out for $500. I like the remote fork lockout feature. I was not able to test drive the bike, as it was raining. I hope to go back tomorrow and take it for a ride. Thanks.

Let me know how you make out on the test ride and stuff.
I found the same bike for a similar price and have the same questions in my thread...

Just looking at the specs, $500 seems like a good price.

Ride it, and if it trips your trigger, go for it.

They named a bike after a rock group?

Seriously...the specs look good, but I'd check out the geometry. I'm not familiar with the Fuji, but the Toronto police ride Trek, DeVinci, and Urbane police MTB's and they all have shorter wheelbases for improved handling on asphalt in traffic...but not that good for stability on the trails.

See if you can get your hand between the rear tire and the seat tube...the wider the space, the better for XC
