Charity Events - Washington - Group Health MS Bike Tour 2007

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The Group Health MS Bike Tour takes you on an unforgettable, two-day journey through Skagit, Whatcom and Island counties. More than 2,000 riders will cruise along scenic figure-eight courses ranging from 50 to 175 miles, and will enjoy six full meals, generous amenities, stunning landscapes, stocked rest stops every 10 to 12 miles at spectacular sites, and spirited festivities that include music and a beer garden.

This ride has special significance for me because my sister was diagnosed with MS 18 years ago. She is now 48 years old and I would like to do what I can in support for her. The people with the disease have the hard part, those of us who participate in these events have it easy.

Please visit my page if you would like to help me with the easy part.

Thanks to the donor from this forum I managed to raise close to $2000! This is my first charity event so I was truly blown away by people's generosity. There was just over $1MIL raised for the event with about 2000 participants. I plan on doing it again next year. If anyone would like to contribute for this years' ride they are accepting donations until October 16.
