About seven months ago my bike was stolen. Got over it, got a new bike. Very happy with it. But just the other day, I went over to a local music store just to look around and browse. I had left my headlight on the handlebars. It was a pretty cheapo light and I figured who would bother even taking it. Sure enough I came out of the store and it was gone. Totally my fault. I should have taken it, but I didn't. I already bought a replacement. But then this evening I went to grab some food. While walking to the restaurant I noticed someone had left their headlight on their bike (the bike was locked up at least). Again, not a super expensive one. I think I even noticed that model at the store today (even less than mine). After dinner I was walking back the same way and noticed that the light was gone. WTF?? What is with the crime over cheap-ass bike lights?

People just suck.

If it can be removed within 15-20 seconds, it probably will be in the time you look away for 30 seconds or more.

Yes. It sucks.

[hasn't happened to me yet fortunately...]

Mine can be removed in less than one second. (It inserts into a docking station, like a bicycle computer).

The sad part of it is some of those things aren't done for profit. It sucks that people do things just to be jerks. My first month of teaching, one of my students stole a bobblehead of Beethoven. It had cost 9.99 and there's no way the kid could have made more than $1 on ebay with it. Welcome to the modern world, unfortunately.

Much like your post, it was probably out of spite.

welcome to life. grow a pair. That's brilliant. Did you come up with that all by yourself?

My headlight was the wasn't even the clip on kind (with docking station). You have to take the time to unscrew the clamp. I won't skip that again. At least it was a cheap one.

It sucks that people do things just to be jerks.
Yup - that was what I was getting at.

Exactly my point. He stole it just to steal it, and I doubt he had any intention of keeping a statue of a composer from over 200 years ago.
