Ok I have a Trek 6700 with road tires can a MTB be a road bike I want to ride in the MS150.

You can pretty easily move to drop bars with 9-speed Dura-Ace bar-end shifters... works great. You would need to either use the special Dia-comp V-brake drop-bar levers (for V-brakes or mech disks), or switch to cantilevers with regular road levers.
