I rode the Portland Century today. There was quite a bit of climbing involved, and I was wondering if anyone knew what the net elevation gain was? I am thinking it must have been at least 5,000ft.

By the way, the day was beautiful, and so was the ride.

With www.veloroutes.org, you can retrace your route and have the elevation profile. It does cumulate altitude gains.

My Garmin measured 5685'...so much for the '2' hills we were promised. If I knew how I could export from the Garmin you could see all of the climbs. Many were in the 12% to 17% grade with several 19% and 2 over 20%. And how about that headwind alonf Marine Drive?. I missed a turn and went all the way to Kelly Point park and the just looped back to join up. Beautiful day for a tough ride.

Mel,
The Peach team did those hills last week. Whoever mapped them at 2,700 feet, as listed in several guide books, wasn't paying attention.
