Bicycle Mechanics - Topeak Joe Blow Prow is at 40 psi

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Anyone ever experience a Topeak Joe Blow Pro pump thats zero setting is at 40 psi?
I went to pump the tires on my bike yesterday and pulled out the pump and saw it was at 40 psi.
I've written Topeak, but wondered if anyone had seen this before. It's only about 5 months old. It's a great pump, but this is confusing. Is there a way to re-set it? I pushed in the bleed button, but nothing.
Thanks in advance for any help.

i'm a little confused. Is it showing 40 when it's actually at zero and not even hooked up to a tire? or is it not showing anything until it gets to 40?

I believe this is what is meant
as for the fix, I dont think I have any solution except that either the needle or the paper meter got jostled and thus is giving you the zero reading of 40.
Is the pump accurate if you subtract 40 from the said pressure? if so, I would likely just live with it and do a bit of mental math whenever I pumped my tires or go ape on it and disassemble it to move the needle back.
Otherwise, if this isn't the issue, I don't have any idea of what's wrong
I have never seen one, but many allow part of the meter to be twisted to set the desired target pressure. The picture looks like that may be possible. Is it?
Yes, when the pump is not connected, it reads 40 psi. I thought about just adding to the 40 psi when I pump the tires, but I didn't want to really over inflate. I mean if it read 5, 10 or 15 then I wouldn't think much about it. But 40, that's a lot of error.
