Hi, I'm new to bike forums so I apologize if this has been discussed before.
I'm going to be commuting from san bruno to santa clara this week (arrive around 8:30am). By the time the caltrains get to san bruno, are the bike cars likely to be full? Obviously, I'm not talking about the baby bullet trains, because they don't stop at san bruno.
Thanks!

I don't commute to SC so YMMV, but you might want to get to the station early enough to catch a following train if you get bumped from a full bike car. Also, if you can, ride to Millbrae to catch the train. It saves the cost of crossing to the Zone 1 price range since San Bruno is the only Zone 1 stop you'll hit.

I don't think you'll have any trouble. San Bruno is just 4 stops out from SF and not likely to take on 32 bikes by that point.

I commute from San Francisco to San Mateo just about everyday and pass several of the CalTrains stations. Usually I see no more than 4 cyclists getting on at the San Bruno station.
Heading south isn't a problem. It's heading into San Francisco during peak times that can be overcrowded.
