I'm looking for fender recommendations for the Specialized Tricross Sport.

Something light that fits well, and ideally is easy to take on and off?

Does it have fender/rack eyelets on the rear dropouts and fork? Does the fork have a brake hole? If so, standard SKS or Planet Bike Freddies will work great. I can get mine off and on in about 5 minutes for each transition.

If you don't have the eyelets and fork brake hole, you're going to have to get creative.

Full fenders are where it's at for wet weather riding on the road. atmo and like that. For off road, just get one of those mountain bike flaps that attaches to the seat post.

Yes, it has the eyelets.

So SKS or Planet Bike Freddies. Got it. Thanks.

I second the recommendation for SKS or Planet Bike fenders.

SKS "Commuter" fenders do not fit. The rear fender stays are not long enough. Weird, but true in my case.

Thanks, I think I will order the Planet Bike Hardcore Freddy fenders for hybrids (up to 700 x 35 mm tires).

I can get them from Nashbar through Amazon for $25.

Helmet Head (or anyone who knows), did you order these fenders and get them installed? If so, what do you think?

*edit* oops, just noticed he's banned. Regardless, does anyone have these installed on a Tricross?

I use the Planet Bike Cascadia fenders and the fit well on my Sport.

I also bought and installed the Planet Bike Cascadia fenders for my Sport and they work well. They were easy enough to install but I keep them on the bike as permantent fixtures and don't plan to take them off and put back on to suit the conditions.

Planet Bike Cascadia FTW. I love the integrated rubber extensions on the ends.

I did have some problems with mine. The back fender broke at the chain stay bridge. I emailed their warranty people and had a replacement a few days later.
