Hi, I don't suppose that any one is very famiilar with the roads around Oxford or Lake Orion in MI. We are thinking of moving there and I am looking for a way to commute that is not on dirt roads or busy streets. Thanks much!!

I am going to make a copy of this thread in the Great Lakes regional subforum. I think you'll get more posts that way. :)

Hi Wolfone. I live in Oxford. Finding a commute on a non-busy street is going to be tough. It's kind of a semi-rural area that's built up very quickly, outstripping the road capacity. Depending on exactly where you'll be living, the Paint Creek Trail might work for part of your ride. Otherwise, it's going to be two-lane, 45 mph roads.

Thanks -- Yes I've been looking at paint creek -- That might work depending upon the house. Thanks again.

The Paint Creek Trail is dirt-covered, but very smooth. Road bikes don't have any problems on it.

The Paint Creek Ridge sub might work, or a house on the west side of Orion Rd. Those back right up to the trail.

Good luck. If you have any more questions, feel free to post here and I'll see if I can help.

When you come up with a route, I'd love to hear about it.
