Mountain Biking - San Francisc group ride???

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Just tesing the waters here...
I am considering putting together a Dainese sponsored group ride in the Bay Area. Essentially we would meet up at the Dainese D-Store in San Francisco for an early morning breakfast, load up a tour bus full of people and bikes, and head out to Downieville (or some other destination. I'm open to ideas.) for a day of riding.
I thought it would give city dwellers without transportation the chance to ride some terrain they have probably never seen, as well as give others the opportunity to enjoy some bashing without worrying about annoying traffic on the way home (especially nice if nursing sore muscles and fresh rash).
If enough people show an interest, I have the option of working with a couple of local shops that could supply gear and bike demos as well.
Any thoughts?
Really?? No one is interested?? I'm talking about a free trip here!

If you can supply a round trip ticket from KC and a demo bike, I'm there!
Only if you allow me to take along and set up a portable display of SixSixOne and Sunline gear and let me talk incessantly about it all :D
This is not some sales pitch. This is my store merely offering a chance to get some locals together for a ride. There will be no seminar, no Dainese hard sell, just a free ride to & from Downieville to bomb some hills. Nothing more, nothing less.
Mostly it is me taking advantage of an opportunity I have with this company to meet some folks and check out some trails since I have been out of the MTB world for awhile now.
That's a great idea and I'm in if the bus ride is free. I passed by your Dainese shop but haven't gone in yet - motorcycle and bike stuff - cool! You'd get a better response if you post locally in SF say craigslist.
I will post more heavily and in different venues as things progress. I have gotten an overwhelming response from a couple of different sites. I am currently working with Bauer's limo service to provide shuttles, and Downieville Outfitters for once we get there. As things solidify, I will update this thread. In the mean time, if you are interested in joining this ride, please post here so that I can get an acurate head count.

Not to be pushy but where did we land on that round trip ticket from KC?:D

Right now the best Schwagg out there seems to be Gastro's girl, or her donut!
Dang, G's girl is out (just had anniversary #31 and I'm goin' for more ;)). However, the donut has merit; but pie would be even better. Rhubarb or huckleberry will do.

I'd be down to go, and my friend might want to come. When do you think it will be?

I am down for the trip for sure. Where is the shop I need some new pads.
We are located in San Francisco at 131 South Van Ness, between 12th and Duboce. Give us a call if you need directions at 415-626-5478.
As far as a date goes; I'm still working out details, but it will likely be in October. As soon as things solidify, I will post everything here.
