I posted a couple of months ago that we would have a Bottecchia CF frame that I could offer to BF members for $399 delivered in the 48 States.
The frames will be naked and have decals in the box to apply as you see fit.
I will not sell these at this price except on this offer. They will be in about Oct 1 - I will have them shipped as soon as they land. After that they go to $450 plus shipping {still a good deal} -- I am putting up no web page on these; you just go to paypal and do 'send money' to bikesdirectbikes@aol.com and fill in the amount with note saying "CF78 Frame in XX size'.

I FORGOT TO MENTION: As with anything we sell; if you unbox it and think it is not a smokin deal; just tell us, send it back in new condition, and we'll refund your money. Simple way to handle transactions I think and it does not hurt us as we sell everything we can get.

On bikesdirect and on bikeisland we have some items that are bought up for resale by dealers; and I guess that is ok, but it keeps normal customers from getting the product.
One example is Vuelta Track wheels; everytime we get them in shops and builders buy them up in 10 and 12 lots and then we run out and consumers have to wait or go to a shop and pay double.
I would really like it if we could have a gentalman's agreement that these Bottecchia CF frames would not go out in qty more than 2 per intended user. {as we may run out, I do not know demand; so I do not know}

You know, if I didn't have a mile long list of bikes to build and upkeep, I'd be interested in one for myself to paint in candy apple red, like the one I did in pink for my wife. They are actually very good frames for the money.

I thought a BF group buy had to involve the untiring efforts of veritable legions of BF members over months, with hundreds of posts, just to get to the point where you get in a single post. By making it so easy, I think it ruins the sense of group accomplishment. Maybe you could make it harder?

Motobecane costs us 20% more as it is one of the most expensive CF frames made in Asia

good idea, but be sure to check variables such as seat tube diameter (for fd clamp and seat post), head tube length and steerer tube length, etc.
you may find that not all bits and pieces will be good transplant candidates....
