View Full Version : DFW Post HHH Meet n' Greet
Ok, Since I didn't do HHH I'm expecting to hear good stories.
It's time for yet another meet 'n greet for the DFW crowd (and anyone else
who cares to join in the fun).
I picked the last place so lets hear some suggestions.
and for the sake of convenience how about someplace
easily accessible to both D & FW ?

Hey Marty,
How about meeting at the Superdrome for the Friday night races? I know it's pretty far for you to travel, but just tough it out!
And yes, it's almost ready!
David
I'm all for another meet n' greet just about any time. Just tell me a time and a place. :)
btw: I like David's idea.

Agreed
at a cool 5 miles from me the Superdrome is perfect. . .

I just went out for the development class, it was a lot of fun. I had been on a velodrome before, but not such a steep one. It's something that really should be tried at least once.
The 14th and 21st of Sept have the RBM points series, the 21st is
the final. Those 2 dates sound the most promising to me.

I'd be in for the 14th, but I'm working the 21st.
Where is this superdrome of which you speak?
It's north of 121 off of Preston. It's a LONG ways from Granbury.

At least two GU Gels by car!! :p

After the Power Gel logistical effort on the HHH, I am going to try Hammer Gel flasks. So the trip would be 2/5ths of a flask?

If we do it a but closer to Fort Worthless, I'm in. I haven't got the time this next month to do a lot of traveling. I'm training for the 500 mile 36 hour Texas Time Trials.

For the older members of this thread, this reminds me of my college road trip days, when drinking and driving was legal in Texas. Distance was figured in beer. Dallas to College Station was a six pack trip for me and my roommate!

I will most likely be able to make that.
I'm in. Likely with the wife.
That is a ways from Granbury. Not quite the other side of the planet but definitely on the other side of the metroplex. If I attend, do I need a passport to get there?

I will try to make it on the 14th. This weekend is when some serious race action will be taking place at the 'drome though. This weekend is the Elite Qualifiers.
yah, I'm going to try to get to the qualifiers this week too.

Last I checked the weather looks pretty good for Friday night. If it's still a go Joanna and I will be there.
David
I'll be there. How late do the races go? I need to catch some ZZzzz's Friday before heading for Greenville in the morning for the Cotton Patch Classic.
not too late, I think by 9:00 they are over and done with.

wanna carpool up there? Friday night, not Saturday morning.
Sweet I was already planning on going and bring the wife, so count me in. Anyone know if coolers are allowed?
Anyone know if coolers are allowed?
Coolers are allowed. Officially, adult beverages are not allowed as it is a college campus but the track management has a "don't ask don't tell" policy as long as you are very discreet about it.
Sounds like cans and huggies then, no problem.
I spoke with Jamie, Matrix rider does Popcicle ride, and he is comming out tonight as well. Is there an admission fee?
So, did the bug infestation get better or worse after the wife and I left last night?
I also saw all 3 of the 'Youth A' riders at Cotton Patch Classic this morning.

The bugs got worse!!! That was horrible!!! We'll need to redo that M-n-G but next time do it somewhere with walls and a roof:D
Maybe it is good that I had to work late and had brain fry and did not feel like getting out. I can handle bugs if I have beer.
I had beer, I didn't know it was possible to watch sports without it. I should have roasted up a few of those crickets and it would have been like popcorn for the races. ;-)
