Finally after an 8 yr layoff, I got back on the trails today. I could kick myself in the ass, because literally in back yard, one block back, there are about 16-18 miles of great trails. Not all that technical which I like, and a good place for beginners, although there are some areas that I don't feel comfortable enough to challenge.

Anyway, my wife got a chance today, to try out her new bike. I think she enjoyed it, but maybe I scared her a bit. I found it exhilarating, but I think she was more on the apphrensive side. Well with time, I feel that she will whizzing through the trails.

I am gonna ride her bike on Sunday with a group. My bike is a 1995 Diamondback, a good bike, but hers has shocks. ;)

Cool! I wish I had trails in my neighborhood. I've got to drive at least 1 hour for some decent trails, and with the rain we've been having, they're all flooded!

Don't push your wife too hard. (or any newbie as well) you want them to have fun, not be in fear for their life. That'll come later!

Flooded as in, "3'0" under! Add to that the mosquitos, 95 degrees and 110% relative humidity, I think I'll pass! Time to wake up early and break out the road bike for some distance!

BTW, my wife (when she's healthy, but that's another story) has a '99 Cannondale Raven, with full XT and Spinergy's. She also has a Cannondale R4000 Road bike. Her old GT Backwoods now has a child seat on it and is the neighborhood cruiser!

She won't let me get her a new bike. She's one of those people that finds something she likes and will never let it go! Good thing I married her! Maybe she'll keep me around forever and ever!

She's pretty hardcore and will put a hurtin on ya! She grew up with an older brother and hated being left behind, so she learned to hang tuff! Sometimes she scares ME with the stuff she does!
