i was just reading a story in the hamilton spectater about a e-bike rider that got fines for riding his ebike
on the street some time back and found this retailer, liked the place so much im geting my new ebike from them this week the prices are good compaired to others in ontario im geting model MODEL EB-500-2 or MODEL: EB-500-1

cheers
the bike came in not bad for $950 not the cheap plastic shell i was told about and the parts are of good quality.
but the brake levers gota go to cheap. !!plastic!!
heres a few pics.
will say one thing the pedals on these bikes are garbage. thay drag on the ground or fall off.
but the bike does have a really smooth ride. ill give it that much
does anyone even use these pedals?

The pedals are there only to satisfy the letter of the law, and are mostly useless for moving the bike places.
A new scooter shop near me has this one on special
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v211/ukbankerboy/Scooter.jpg
thats all right i removed the chain and tied down the sprocket so the pedals are standing strate up at least i can turn now. its funny when thay bottom out hit the road and fly off :)
not very safe
took it out for my first long ride. going from brushed motor to brushless is amazing. i now see the love for hubmotors all i can hear is the tires on the road.:D
well that and the volt meter never left full. my my shwinn izip would have been flat
someone in my building has been on this forum showed up at my door want me to do some shanges to his izip dang i need to start a shop lol

Enjoy the silence :)
Are you going to offer your services to other Izip owners?
heh no just the odd one here there i dont charge anything. speaking of mods i just finished my new
ebike caps in controller where 450volt sweet and replaced the fets and Bridged the shunt resister at the tip.
fired it up no boom way faster. i just need to beef up the wires going to the hub so i dont have a meltdown.
i posted it on youtube.

good to go
cheers

How much faster?
about 5mph faster if i want anymore ill need to add a battery. should be picking up parts this week.
batterys better rear shocks tires and a few other things to replace the cheap parts on the bike. allready i
killed the turn signals and a few other wiring problems nothing major. im not surpized the company that makes these bike makes Gymnastics Equipment lol. :)
when i get the chance ill do some tests on it with the volt meter.
i will say one thing there is a bike path in my backyard with a steep hill before the changes it would not make it to the top without rolling backwards. now it makes it without slowing down and the rear hub is a little warmer but not hot.
cheers

Do you know the current limit value after the mod?
no. just sitting down doing a few tests now.
here it is at 60volts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JArJWpAh9mI
time to pickout better head gear for testing ;) http://www.daymak.com/bikes-toronto/parts/helmets/V530/v530spec.html

Could you read the speedometer during the test?
when i hit peek power at 60volts the speedometer
flew past 40mph and fried. when i get my helmet ill test it somemore outside. i took it out last night talk about insane speed it was like a gas scooter with no sound controller was warm hub was hot but not super hot.
i really got to get it on my cam and post it its good for a laugh :) i need to do a load test but ill hold off till i get the helmet.
my setup will be a relay and button to jump to lightspeed lol
no this will be under the seat.
one thing for sure thay dont take much pride in there chargers that comes with the bike. parts floating around inside the charger good thing it plastic chunks not metal. anyway see my diy charger case a old compaq proliant
server power supply pcb fit nicely even screwed down.
also the fan died in the original case i got that in time to save.
What do you think of this?
It is somewhere between yours and an 16" ebike.
if that model was for sale over here i would have picked it up. the aluminum rims with sealed bearings give a really nice ride.
well that and i could find it easy for carrying up the stairs.
i dont really ride in the rain and im thinking on adding a little active cooling for the hub do you think it would work? the pins of the hall sensors could sealed with clear silicon if i ever do get stuck in rain.
im thinking only 4 holes on each side not to weaken the rim.

Yes it would help but not much.
Don't think it is wise to do as an daily commutor.
ok than forget that i use it allot.
i found the problem with the speedo bad trace in the controller easy fix.
and it works :)
Visited your site. You are lover of old tube amps.
Later I got a pair of old Quad II. They sound sweet and excellent in my system.
ya that site needs some work. i took it down till i fix it up. yes tube amps are very Addictive. :)
i love to work on them.

Check out the legal status of this bike on this page under the heading 'Power-Assisted/Electric Bicycles'
http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/vehicle/emerging/index.html
Does yours have the black label?
yup its all legal. label and pedals. may be a little faster than 35mph hehe :p
48volt to 12volt lights. thank god the wiring was driving me nuts. and i found a 6volt led acid works better than 12volt for the turbo button lol :)
well i found out a 12volt sealed led acid battery doesn't have enuf amps to work the front halogen lights
and rear brake light or signal lights. but i found a Solution a 20amp motorcycle battery. works for now
till i get a dc to dc converter. sweet now i can piss off drivers ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHs8WRsYtT0
and whats a ride without toons. im sure theres a law about using walkman with ebikes so i added a digital
12volt radio in the front dash. with soft touch controls. just need to pick up a small outdoor speaker
for parts.
im testing the relay on the ebike to jump to a higher voltage. and it works great.
it can be seen here ->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxnUSxV58mc
cheers
From the video, seems that you used an relay to add an 6V battery to the stock 48V battery ! ?
yup just a simple 24volt 40amp relay that allso works with 12 volts. tested it out on the street works great for turning on a bussy street. even had a few people go what the f^@^$@#ck lol :)
the hub is fine for short bursts. would i buy this ebike again no. but if it had this little mod yes i feel safer in traffic.
i think my next change will be from drum brake to disk brake. the back one anyway.
