I'm narrowing down my list and the Heckler and Cannondale Gemini are at the top for test rides. I like the looks of both bikes on paper, they seem similar geometry-wise, but a key difference on the Medium size is Gemini TT @ 23.6 while Heckler TT @ 22.5
My question for those who have ridden both of these bikes (or for anyone who has an opinion ;-)...
would the longer top tube on the Gemini possibly be perceived as a disadvantage when dealing with speedy descents, jumps, negotiating nasty root-infested singletrack e.g. rider weight more toward the front? It would seem that the Gemini's slightly more slack frame design would "make up" for the longer top tube by keeping rider weight more toward the back.
Under what riding conditions would the Gemini's longer top tube be perceived as an advantage?
I will be doing "all mountain" riding, climbing is important and I'm not afraid to work on the climbs
